Samsung Dishwasher Repair in Dubai — Eight Information Codes, Read Properly

Samsung calls them information codes rather than error codes, and that wording is more honest than most. A code reports what a sensor observed. It does not name the part that failed, and we do not treat it as though it does.

Information, Not Verdict

Eight Codes, and What Each One Is Actually Telling You

Samsung dishwasher repair in Dubai almost always begins with two or three characters on the display, and Samsung calls these information codes rather than error codes. That wording is more accurate than most manufacturers manage, and it is worth taking literally.

An information code reports what a sensor observed. Water did not arrive. Water did not leave. A temperature reading sat outside its expected window. A button appears to be held down. None of that names the component that failed, and treating a code as a finished diagnosis is exactly how the wrong part gets fitted at your expense.

Samsung lists eight of them for this market: LC and LE, 4C and 4E, 5C and 5E, HC and HE, 3C and 3E, PC and PE, CA, and bC2 with bE2. That is the set we work from, and we do not add a ninth from a third-party chart.

The paired letters need one piece of explanation, and it is ours rather than manufacturer documentation, so please treat it as a working assumption. Where a code appears with both a C and an E suffix, our reading is that the two describe the same fault on different display generations rather than two separate conditions. It changes nothing about how the machine is diagnosed. It does stop people hunting for a distinction that is not there.

One caution about the published cause lists, because we would rather tell you than let you discover it halfway through. The manufacturer page serving this region is a global template, and several of the causes it offers were written for cold climates and describe conditions that simply do not occur in the United Arab Emirates. The code meanings are sound and we use them. The causes we substitute are the ones we genuinely find in Dubai kitchens: sediment carried from building storage tanks, over-dosed detergent in soft water, debris settled in a sump, and supply arriving far hotter than the machine was designed around.

We are independent, so nothing on this page steers a code toward a part sale. The order is the cheapest plausible cause first: filters and screens before valves, valves before pumps, pumps before boards, and a board only once everything feeding it has been measured.

The Samsung Code Table

What Each Published Code Actually Means

Six of the eight are below. HC and PC deserve more than a tile, so they carry into the next section alongside the two codes that are not about water at all.

đŸ’Ļ

LC / LE — Leakage Check Issue

Samsung words it as a potential water leak. Causes it names include a loose hose connection, worn gaskets, the wrong detergent, excess rinse aid and a machine leaning forward instead of sitting level.

🚰

4C / 4E — Water Supply Issue

Unable to receive sufficient water. Samsung names a closed or defective supply valve and a clogged valve filter. In Dubai the clogged filter is checked first and often ends it.

💧

5C / 5E — Drainage Problem

Water is not leaving the tub. Samsung names debris at the pump impeller and a clogged filter, and between them those two account for most of the machines we open.

đŸŒĄī¸

HC / HE — High-Temperature Heating Issue

The heating circuit is the obvious suspect and sometimes the answer. Check what is arriving at the inlet first, because a hot summer supply changes what the machine sees.

âš™ī¸

3C / 3E — Pump Operation Issue

The pump is not running as commanded. An obstruction or a stalled impeller is a cheaper and far more common finding than a failed motor winding.

🔀

PC / PE — Dividing Valve Defective

The valve that alternates flow between the upper and lower spray arms. One basket washes, the other does not, and the spray arm usually takes the blame.

Beyond Fill and Drain

HC, PC, CA and bC2 — the Four Least Explained

Fill and drain codes get all the attention because they are the ones people search for. The other four are where a Samsung diagnosis most often goes wrong, and two of them regularly turn out not to be faults at all.

HC and HE report a high-temperature heating issue. The element and its sensing are the obvious place to look, and sometimes they are the answer. Before condemning either, we check what is arriving at the inlet. Uninsulated rooftop tanks in Dubai have been reported at 50 to 60 degrees through summer, and villa cold lines commonly sit at 35 to 40, against a dishwasher inlet recommendation of roughly 49 degrees. A machine fed water already at or above its own target barely heats at all, and the readings that follow bear little resemblance to what the programme expects. Same machine, same code, an entirely different cause in August than in February.

PC and PE are published as a defective dividing valve. On machines that wash zones separately, that valve alternates flow between the upper and lower spray arms. When it sticks, one basket comes out clean and the other comes out barely rinsed, and the household reasonably concludes that the spray arm serving the dirty basket must be blocked. Stripping and soaking an arm that was never blocked wastes an afternoon. The give-away is consistency: a blocked arm cleans poorly everywhere it reaches, while a stuck dividing valve leaves one whole basket untouched every single cycle, regardless of how it was loaded.

CA reports a communication issue between the main and sub PBAs. There is more than one board in these machines — a main board low in the base and a sub board behind the control panel — and CA says the traffic between them is not arriving. That is not the same as saying a board has failed. The loom crossing the door hinge flexes every time the door is opened and closed, and connectors sitting in a base that has taken a slow leak corrode quietly over months. The harness and the connections get checked before anybody prices a board, because a board is the most expensive conclusion available and the least often correct.

bC2 and bE2 are triggered when a button is pressed for more than 30 seconds. That is worth reading twice, because it describes a stuck key rather than a broken machine. The panel cleaned with too much spray. Liquid that ran under a membrane and dried there. A decor door or cabinet panel bearing on the touch strip after the kitchen was adjusted. Condensation settling on a capacitive control when the door was left ajar at the end of a cycle. Switch the machine off at the socket, give it a few minutes, power it up and touch nothing. A good share of bC2 calls end right there, at no cost to anyone.

Before You Book

What You Can Safely Check Yourself

Several of the eight clear without a part. Working through these first costs you nothing, and we would genuinely rather you did.

1. Record the code and the model number

Photograph the display and the model number printed on the door edge or the inner frame. That pairing narrows the diagnosis considerably before anyone travels to you.

2. Check whether it is still in warranty

If the machine sits inside its manufacturer warranty, call Samsung first. That work should cost you nothing, and we will tell you the same if you ring us instead.

3. Tap and valve screen — 4C and 4E

Confirm the supply tap is fully open, then look at the fine mesh filter where the hose meets the valve. Sediment from an overdue storage tank collects there.

4. Filters out and rinsed — 5C and 5E

Machine off at the socket. Coarse and fine filters out, rinsed under a tap, refitted and turned until they lock. A filter left short of locked still reads as blocked.

5. Power down and touch nothing — bC2

Off at the socket, a few minutes to settle, then back on without pressing anything. Check nothing is resting against the touch strip while the machine is off.

6. Stop at LC and book a visit

The base tray has found water. Tilting the machine empties the tray and clears the display, but the leak that filled it is entirely untouched.

The Dubai Specifics

Summer Inlet Temperature, Tank Sediment and One Popular Myth

Three local conditions genuinely change how a Samsung behaves here. The claim you will read most often in local content is not one of them.

What genuinely applies in Dubai

  • Summer inlet temperature is the real differentiator. Uninsulated rooftop tanks have been reported at 50 to 60 degrees and villa cold lines at 35 to 40, against a dishwasher inlet recommendation of roughly 49 degrees
  • Water arriving that hot truncates the heating phase, so the programme reaches temperature long before its timing assumes — HC and HE territory
  • Enzyme detergents are denatured by that heat before they act on protein soils, so egg, milk and starch residues bake on rather than lift away
  • Upper-basket plastics distort across a season of very hot fills, and the warped item gets blamed on the machine rather than on the supply
  • Tank sediment silts the mesh filter inside the fill valve — 4C and 4E territory. Dubai Municipality requires residential tanks cleaned at least twice a year; villas own their tank, towers run a facilities schedule
  • For LC and LE, the hose is only one of the causes Samsung names. Check the machine is sitting level front to back, and cut the rinse-aid dose before buying anything

What we will not tell you

  • That Dubai has hard water. The supply here is overwhelmingly desalinated seawater, re-mineralised to a modest level. That claim saturates local content and we could not source it anywhere credible
  • A hardness number. None was verifiable, so we publish none. Use your Samsung manual alongside a test strip rather than a figure copied from a competitor page
  • That your area is harder than the next one. One integrated network feeds the city. Building storage tanks, sediment and stagnation vary between addresses; supply hardness does not
  • That cloudy glassware is limescale. In the UAE the usual cause is etching from soft water plus an over-dosed detergent. Etching micro-pits the glass and is permanent; limescale is a deposit that wipes off. The fixes are opposites
  • That maximum softener settings, constant salt and a monthly descale are a sensible Dubai default. Set the machine from the manual and a test strip, not from a sales pitch

Our trade licence 134585 is issued in Ajman; Dubai is a service area we cover. Cabinet Decision 66 of 2023 requires a documented estimate and your consent before repair work begins, and an itemised invoice afterwards, with a 15-day minimum warranty on the work. Ours runs 90 days.

FAQ

Samsung Dishwasher Codes — Your Questions

What does 4C or 4E mean on my Samsung dishwasher?

Samsung publishes it as a water supply issue: the machine is unable to receive sufficient water. The causes Samsung names are worth working through in order, because the first two cost nothing. The supply valve may be closed or defective, and the filter inside that valve may be clogged. In Dubai the clogged filter is the one we find most often. Building storage tanks carry sediment, Dubai Municipality requires residential tanks cleaned at least twice a year, and an overdue tank quietly silts the fine mesh at the water connection. Cleaning that screen frequently ends the visit.

Is 5C different from 5E on a Samsung?

In our experience they report the same thing: a drainage problem. Our reading is that the C and E suffixes track display generations rather than distinct faults, and that framing is ours rather than something Samsung documents, so we treat it as a working assumption and not a rule. Either way the diagnosis is identical and it starts cheap. Samsung names debris at the pump impeller and a clogged filter as causes, and those two account for most of the machines we attend. Filters out, rinsed, refitted until they lock. Sump cleared. Only then does the pump come into question.

My Samsung shows bC2 and will not clear. Is something broken?

Often nothing is. Samsung publishes bC2 and bE2 as codes triggered when a button is pressed for more than 30 seconds, which describes a stuck key rather than a failed component. Look for the ordinary explanations first. A panel wiped with too much spray, liquid that ran under a membrane and dried there, a decor door or cabinet panel bearing against the touch strip, or condensation settling on a capacitive control after the door was left ajar at the end of a cycle. Switch off at the socket, leave it a few minutes, power up and touch nothing.

What does CA mean on a Samsung dishwasher?

Samsung publishes it as a communication issue between the main and sub PBAs. These machines carry more than one board: a main board low in the base and a sub board behind the control panel. CA reports that the traffic between them is not arriving, which is not the same as saying a board has failed. The loom crossing the door hinge flexes every time the door opens, and a connector sitting in a base that has taken a slow leak corrodes quietly. We check the harness and the connections before anyone prices a board.

LC keeps returning after I tightened the hose. What else causes it?

Samsung lists several causes for LC and LE, and only one of them is the hose connection. The others are worn gaskets, the wrong detergent, too much rinse aid, and a machine leaning forward rather than sitting level. The last two catch people out here. Surplus foam rides over the door seal and lifts the base tray float, and in soft Dubai water an over-dosed tablet foams more than the label assumes. Check the machine is level front to back before you buy anything. If the base tray holds water, book a visit rather than tilting it out.

My Samsung is still under manufacturer warranty. Should I call you?

Call Samsung first, and we will tell you exactly that if you ring us instead. That work should cost you nothing, and there is no sense paying for it privately. We are independent, and losing the occasional job that way is fine. Where we are useful is after the cover ends, or as a second opinion on a quote you have already been given. Separately, Cabinet Decision 66 of 2023, Article 26, entitles you to a documented estimate and your consent before work, an itemised invoice afterwards, and at least fifteen days of warranty. Ours runs 90.
