Bosch UAE lists eight dishwasher fault codes. We work from that list rather than the sprawling third-party tables online, and we tell you which of the eight you can often clear yourself in ten minutes.
We are an independent repair company — not an authorized service center of Bosch, and not affiliated with, appointed by or endorsed by any manufacturer. The Bosch name, model references and error codes appear on this page only to identify the machines we repair, and all trademarks remain the property of their owners.

Bosch dishwasher repair in Dubai normally begins with a two-character code on the display, and that code is genuinely useful — provided it is read against what Bosch actually publishes rather than the sprawling E01-to-E30 tables that fill the search results.
Bosch UAE lists eight dishwasher fault codes: E12, E14, E15, E18, E22, E23, E24 and E25. That is the list we work from. Three of them are restriction faults you can often clear yourself with no part, no visit and no charge, which is worth knowing before anybody is called out to you.
The codes that are not on the list matter just as much. E09 is quoted all over the internet as a Bosch heating fault. It is not on the Bosch UAE list, and we will not diagnose a heating circuit from a table the manufacturer does not publish. Where a display shows something outside the eight, it is usually a salt or rinse-aid lamp being read as a fault, or a table copied from another brand.
It also helps to know what a code is. It reports what the sensors observed — no water arriving, water still in the tub, water in the base tray — not a verdict on which part failed. Bosch makes that explicit on E24: one reason could be a blocked pump. A manufacturer declining to guess deserves the same restraint from whoever attends.
We are independent, so nothing here pushes a code towards a part sale. The order is the cheapest plausible cause first: filters and hoses before pumps, pumps before boards, and a board only once everything feeding it has been measured.
Six of the eight are below. The three drain codes overlap enough that they are unpacked properly in the next section.
Bosch calls for a descale. This is deposit accumulated across years of cycles, not proof of a hard supply. Descale the machine; do not rebuild your salt settings around it.
Water is not arriving as the machine expects. Supply tap, hose, the mesh screen at the connection, then the flow meter that counts the fill — in that order, cheapest first.
The base-tray float has found water. Aquastop has shut the inlet and is pumping out. Not a self-repair job: the leak itself has to be located and stopped.
Bosch names two causes for this one. Ease the machine forward and look for a crushed or kinked supply hose first, then the filters in the water connection.
The filters inside the tub. Clean them and reinsert them correctly. A filter left a quarter-turn short of locked still reads as blocked and brings the code straight back.
Foreign objects in the pump, or a pump cover not attached correctly. If a glass has broken in the machine recently, expect fragments — and do not clear the sump by hand.

Three of the eight published codes concern getting water out rather than getting it in, and they overlap enough that Bosch itself hedges on one of them.
E23 is published as a fault with the waste water pump. E24 is worded far more cautiously — one reason could be a blocked pump. E25 is the specific one: the pump is blocked with foreign objects, or the pump cover is not attached correctly.
That hedging is honest and worth respecting. A drain pump that is electrically perfect but mechanically obstructed leaves almost the same evidence as one that has failed, and the gap between those two conclusions is the gap between a ten-minute clean and a part on your invoice.
So the sequence does not vary. Filters out and rinsed. Sump emptied and inspected. Pump cover unlatched, checked for the debris that stops the impeller, and — the step most often skipped — refitted until it seats and latches properly. Only then does the pump get tested under power.
The glass warning belongs here. When a tumbler breaks inside a dishwasher the fragments travel down into the sump and wedge in the impeller housing, where they sit small, transparent and submerged against steel of exactly the same colour. Reaching in blind is how people get cut. Power off at the socket, a torch and tweezers — or leave it with us.
The waste connection outside the machine is the last suspect and a frequent one in Dubai apartments, where a dishwasher often drains into a shared stack alongside a sink and a washing machine. A machine that drains sluggishly every cycle and only occasionally throws a code is often reporting a restriction that is not inside it.
One thing worth saying plainly, because it prompts a lot of unnecessary calls: a shallow pool of clean water in the sump recess at the end of a cycle is normal and is not a fault. It keeps the seal wet. If it is clear, odourless and stays level, leave it alone.
Several of the eight codes clear without a part. Working through these first costs you nothing, and we would rather you did.
The code on the display and the model number printed on the door edge. Photograph both. That pairing narrows the diagnosis considerably before anyone travels.
If the machine is inside its manufacturer warranty, call Bosch first. That work should cost you nothing, and we will tell you exactly this if you ring us instead.
Ease it forward and check the supply hose has not been kinked or crushed against the wall since it was last moved. The cheapest fix on this page.
Coarse and fine filters out, rinsed under a running tap, refitted and turned until they lock. A filter a quarter-turn short of locked reads as blocked.
With the machine switched off at the socket first. If a glass has broken inside recently, stop there and leave the sump to us. Those fragments are sharp and hard to see.
The base tray has water in it. Tilting the machine empties the tray and clears the display, but the leak that filled it is untouched.
Three local factors genuinely change how a Bosch machine behaves here. One very popular claim does not survive checking.
Our trade licence 134585 is issued in Ajman; Dubai is a service area we cover. Cabinet Decision 66 of 2023 requires a documented estimate and your consent before repair work begins, and an itemised invoice afterwards, with a 15-day minimum warranty on the work. Ours runs 90 days.

What E23, E24 and E25 look like as a symptom rather than as a code.
Cleared and tested under power before it is condemned, because most are not faulty.
Spray arms, filters, loading and detergent dose ranked by real-world cause.
An entirely different F-series code structure, matched by model range.
E15 means the water protection system has activated. A float in the base tray has detected water where there should be none, so the machine has closed the inlet and is running its drain pump to protect your kitchen. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do. Tilting the machine to empty the tray clears the display temporarily, but the leak that filled it is still there and the code will return. This one needs the machine drawn out and the source found. Do not attempt work on the Aquastop hose or its valve yourself.
Not on the Bosch UAE list. Bosch publishes eight dishwasher codes for this market — E12, E14, E15, E18, E22, E23, E24 and E25 — and E09 is not among them. It circulates widely on third-party repair sites, usually attached to a heating fault, but we will not diagnose your machine from a table the manufacturer does not publish. If your display genuinely shows something outside those eight, send us a photograph of the screen with the model number. It is very often a salt or rinse-aid indicator being read as a fault rather than a fault code at all.
No, and the two claims are separate. Bosch recommends descaling because any water carries some dissolved mineral, and a heating circuit that has run several thousand cycles accumulates a deposit over years no matter how soft the supply is. That is cumulative service, not evidence of a hard supply. Dubai water is overwhelmingly desalinated and re-mineralised to a modest level, so the correct response to E12 is a descale of a machine that has earned one after long service, not a permanent switch to maximum softener settings and a monthly treatment routine. Check your manual alongside a test strip before you change any setting.
Both are restriction codes, and one that returns after cleaning usually means something upstream is still feeding the blockage. E18 points at water getting in: a kinked supply hose behind the machine, or the mesh screen at the water connection silting up. E22 points at the filters inside the tub, and a filter refitted a quarter-turn short of locked still reads as blocked. In Dubai the recurring cause is often tank sediment. Dubai Municipality requires residential tanks cleaned at least twice a year, and an overdue tank quietly silts inlet screens. Villas own their tank; towers run a facilities schedule.
It is one of the more common findings, so please take the warning seriously. E25 means the pump is blocked with foreign objects, or the pump cover is not attached correctly. When a glass breaks inside a dishwasher the fragments do not stay where they landed — they wash down into the sump and wedge in the impeller housing, where they sit small, transparent and submerged against wet stainless steel. Do not sweep the sump with bare fingers. If the cover was simply left unlatched after an earlier clean, seating it properly clears the code. If it was not, leave the extraction to us.
Call Bosch first, and we will tell you the same thing if you ring us instead. While a machine sits inside its manufacturer warranty the sensible route is the brand, because that work should cost you nothing. We are independent and losing the occasional job that way is fine. Where we are useful is after the warranty ends, or when you want a second opinion on a quote you have been given. Our workmanship warranty runs 90 days, which sits above the 15-day statutory minimum that Cabinet Decision 66 of 2023 sets for repair work in the UAE.
E18, E22 and E25 are often cleared at the filter or the pump cover with no part at all. We will say so on the phone rather than book a visit you do not need.
The code on the display, plus the model number printed on the door edge, tells us most of what we need before anyone travels to you.
