Miele publishes more display messages than any dishwasher brand we service, and it qualifies them by model generation. The same F11 is documented differently on a G6000 and on a G7000. We read yours against the right range.
We are an independent repair company â not an authorized service centre of Miele, and not one of the Miele-certified technicians that Miele UAE markets. We have no affiliation with, and no appointment from, Miele or its regional distributor. The Miele name and model designations appear here only to identify the machines we repair, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Miele dishwasher repair in Dubai begins with two pieces of information rather than one: the message on the display, and the model number on the sticker inside the door frame. Give us only the first and we are guessing.
Miele documents its display messages far more thoroughly than the other dishwasher brands we work on. The published support library runs past sixty separate articles. Most manufacturers hand you a two-character code and a single line of description. Miele gives you a described condition, a first action to take, and â the part almost everyone ignores â the model range that article applies to.
That qualifier is where nearly all secondhand repair advice falls apart. F11 has one published article for the G1000 to G6000 series and a separate one for the G7000 series and the 2019-onwards Discovery machines. Two identical characters on the display, two differently documented conditions behind them. A code table that prints a single meaning for F11 and moves on is simply wrong for a large share of the machines sitting in Dubai kitchens right now.
So we ask for the model number before we quote, and we explain why on the call. It is not paperwork for its own sake. It decides which article governs, which component we expect to find at fault, and whether the part travelling to your kitchen is the correct one.
What follows is the verified set, kept in Miele's own descriptive wording wherever we can quote it, with the range qualifier attached rather than stripped off.
Each one carries the model range it belongs to. Where Miele publishes different articles for different generations, we say so rather than flattening it into a single tidy line.
Miele describes the non-return valve as incorrectly positioned, with water standing in the wash cabinet. The G7000 and 2019-onwards Discovery machines carry a separate F11 article â never assume the same cause.
The water inlet is blocked or restricted. Begin at the tap and the hose mesh screen, not at the valve. In Dubai that screen silts up with tank sediment far more often than the valve actually fails.
The circulation pump is blocked. Something has reached the wash pump chamber â a fruit stone, a glass shard, a jar label. Clearing it beats replacing it in most of the machines we open.
A heating relay contact fault. Miele states plainly that this is a technical fault you cannot remedy yourself, and we agree without qualification. It is relay and board territory, behind mains connections.
The Waterproof system has been activated: programme cancelled, drain pump switched on. Water has reached the base tray and the float has tripped. Do not keep resetting and re-running it.
The Miele library runs well past sixty messages. We publish only the ones we have verified in Miele wording. If yours is not listed, send the code and the model and we will look it up properly instead of guessing.

Two local conditions affect Miele machines in Dubai in ways the manual never anticipated, and one widely repeated claim about this city is not true at all.
Summer inlet temperature is the real one. Rooftop storage tanks are frequently uninsulated and have been reported at fifty to sixty degrees in high summer, and even villa cold lines commonly deliver thirty-five to forty. The recommended maximum inlet for a domestic dishwasher is around forty-nine degrees. When the water arriving is already at or above the target, the heating phase is truncated or skipped entirely. Enzyme detergents are denatured before they ever get to work on protein soils, so egg, milk and meat residue is baked on rather than broken down, and upper-basket plastics can distort. The frustrating part is that this produces poor results with no error code at all â the machine believes it has run a perfect cycle.
Tank sediment is the second. Dubai Municipality requires residential water tanks to be cleaned at least twice a year. Villas own their own tank and that responsibility sits with the owner; towers run to a facilities management schedule. Where a tank has been left, the sediment it holds finds its way to the finest restriction in the path â the mesh screen at your inlet valve. Slow fill, extended cycles and eventually a fill fault such as F12 follow from that, and clearing a screen costs nothing.
What is not true is that Dubai has hard water. Roughly ninety-nine percent of the supply is desalinated seawater, re-mineralised to a modest level. It is soft. Setting your Miele softener to maximum, running constant salt or descaling monthly by default all follow from a claim that we could not source anywhere credible. Hardness also does not vary between Dubai areas; one production and distribution network serves the emirate. The genuine glassware problem here is etching caused by soft water combined with an over-dosed detergent, and etching is permanent â unlike limescale, which wipes off.
Model range established before anything else, then the cheapest plausible cause tested before any part is discussed.
The sticker inside the door frame gives the full model designation. That single detail decides which published article governs your code, and it is the first thing recorded.
The full message rather than a paraphrase, plus the point in the cycle it appeared â fill, wash, heat or drain. A code that arrives at fill and one that arrives at heat point in different directions.
Coarse and fine filters, sump, non-return flap seating, hose mesh screen, spray arm jets. A surprising number of Miele call-outs end here, and we would rather say so than sell a component.
Heater circuit and temperature sensor measured for heating faults. Base tray and float inspected for F70. The pump chamber opened and the impeller checked for F14, then run under load.
Cabinet Decision 66/2023 Article 26 requires a documented estimate and your agreement before work begins, and an itemised invoice afterwards. That is the standard we work to, not a courtesy.
The same article sets a statutory minimum of fifteen days on repair work. Ours runs to ninety days on parts and labour. If the same fault returns inside that window, so do we.
Half of what we attend on Miele machines is something the owner could reasonably have found. The other half is not worth touching, and we would rather be blunt about which is which.
We are independent. If your machine is still inside its manufacturer warranty, call Miele or your dealer first and we will say so on the phone. Trade Licence 134585 is issued in Ajman; Dubai is a service area we cover.

Not necessarily, and this is the single most useful thing to understand about Miele codes. Miele publishes separate articles for the same code on different model generations. F11 has one article covering the G1000 to G6000 series and a different one for the G7000 series and the 2019-onwards Discovery machines. On the older range Miele describes the non-return valve as incorrectly positioned, with water standing in the wash cabinet. Any code table that prints one meaning for F11 and stops there is wrong for a large part of the installed base, which is why we ask for your model number first.
In Miele wording, F70 means the Waterproof system has been activated: the programme is cancelled and the drain pump is switched on. In plain terms, water has collected in the base of the machine where the float sits, and the machine has shut the cycle down and started pumping out to protect your kitchen. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do. What it is not doing is telling you where the water came from. Repeatedly resetting and restarting is the one thing to avoid, because the water is still there and the source has not been found.
Not on its own. Miele describes F12 as the water inlet being blocked or restricted, which is a description of a condition rather than a verdict on a part. Start where it costs nothing: the supply tap fully open, the hose not kinked or crushed behind the machine, and the mesh filter screen at the hose connection. In Dubai that screen matters more than most people expect, because building and villa storage tanks carry sediment that silts it up. We clear and test that path before anyone quotes you a valve.
Usually not. Miele describes F14 as the circulation pump being blocked, and blocked is the operative word. What comes out of the pump chamber is nearly always foreign: a fruit stone, an olive pit, a shard from a broken glass, a paper label that floated off a jar, or a small bone. Clearing the obstruction and checking the impeller for damage resolves most of them, which is a labour job rather than a parts job. A pump that has been driven hard against an obstruction can be damaged, so we test it under load afterwards rather than assume.
No, and most of the advice circulating locally is wrong. Dubai supply water is roughly ninety-nine percent desalinated seawater, re-mineralised to a modest level, so it is soft rather than hard. We publish no hardness figure because none was verifiable to a standard we would stand behind. Set your machine using the Miele manual together with a test strip, not a default maximum. Over-dosing detergent into soft water is what etches glassware, and etching is permanent, unlike a limescale film which simply wipes off. Hardness also does not vary from one Dubai area to another.
Call Miele or the dealer you bought it from first, and we will tell you the same thing on the phone rather than take the booking. If the machine is inside its manufacturer warranty period, that route is likely to cost you nothing and it is the sensible first call. We are an independent repair company with no affiliation to Miele, so we are not the people to process a warranty claim. Once the warranty has expired, or where a fault falls outside it, we are glad to look. Our own work carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.
The code on its own is not enough. With the model number from the door frame we can tell you which Miele article applies before anyone is dispatched.
The full model number from the sticker inside the door frame, plus whatever the display shows. Those two pieces together narrow the job a very long way.
