Ariston, Indesit and Hotpoint have shared platform engineering for many years, and in 2014 the whole group was acquired by Whirlpool. The result is that equivalent European models across all four badges use closely related components and the same style of F-code diagnostics. A technician looking for a drain pump, a door lock or a heating element for an Ariston is not dependent on one narrow supply line — there are several routes to a correct part.

What Your Ariston Washing Machine F-Code Means

Ariston, Hotpoint and Indesit machines share this F-code family, so these apply across all three badges.

F01

Motor drive / board. Motor triac or control board circuit fault — tested before any board is replaced.

F02

Motor tacho fault. Motor not reporting speed, or not turning. Brushes, tacho coil or wiring.

F03

NTC sensor fault. Temperature sensor out of range, often with a machine washing cold.

F04

Pressure switch fault. Water level sensor, or its hose blocked, split or disconnected.

F05

Drain fault. Not emptying in time. Blocked pump filter, blocked drain hose or failed pump.

F06

Door lock / button fault. Interlock not confirming, or a programme button reading as stuck.

F07

Element not immersed. Heater firing without enough water — often a fill or pressure system issue.

F08

Heating relay stuck. Heating circuit not switching correctly — a frequent Ariston fault.

F09

Software / EEPROM. Stored configuration fault, usually needing a reset and retest.

F10 / F11

Pressure or pump not detected. No signal from the water level sensor, or the pump not seen by the board.

F12

Communication fault. Main board and display board not talking — connector, loom or board.

F13 / F15

Drying faults. On washer-dryer models — drying sensor or drying heater circuit.

No. We are UNITECH HOME BUILDING MAINTENANCE L.L.C, a private independent repair company licensed in the UAE under trade licence 134585. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized service provider of Ariston, Hotpoint-Ariston or the Whirlpool group. We repair these machines as an independent third party and use the brand name only to identify the machines we work on.

Is Ariston the same as Hotpoint-Ariston?

In practice yes, for the machines sold in this region. The brand has been marketed as both Ariston and Hotpoint-Ariston, and the machines share the same platform engineering and the same F-code diagnostic system. Whatever badge is on the front of yours, the repair approach is the same.

What does F05 mean on my Ariston washing machine?

F05 is a drain fault — the pump is not emptying the drum within the expected time, or the pressure system still reports water present. The usual causes are a blocked pump filter, a blocked or kinked drain hose, or a failed drain pump. It is one of the most common Ariston repairs and among the least expensive.

My Ariston machine shows F08 and will not heat. What is that?

F08 relates to the heating circuit — typically the heating relay stuck closed, or a pressure switch and element combination that the board is not happy with. Heating faults are one of the more frequent Ariston repairs, and scale build-up on the element contributes to them. The element itself is an inexpensive part and a straightforward replacement.

Can you still get parts for Ariston machines in Dubai?

Yes, and it is easier than many owners expect. Ariston, Indesit and Hotpoint have shared platform engineering for many years and joined the Whirlpool group in 2014, so equivalent components frequently overlap across all four brands. That gives a technician several routes to a correct part rather than a single-source dependency.

Is an older Ariston machine worth repairing?

Usually yes, because the common Ariston faults are inexpensive components — a drain pump, a heating element, a door lock or an NTC sensor. None of those justifies replacing a working machine.
