A Samsung Error Code Tells You Where To Look, Not What To Replace

Samsung machines are good at telling you which system has failed and poor at telling you why. A 5E drain code appears whether the drain pump has burnt out or a single coin is sitting across the impeller. A UE unbalance code appears whether the load is genuinely lopsided or the suspension has collapsed. Replacing the part the code points at, without checking the cause, is how people end up paying twice.

So our technicians treat the code as the starting point. The machine is tested on site — fill, drain, motor rotation, heating, door lock and sensor readings — and the actual failed component is identified before anything is quoted. That is also why we ask you to send the code by WhatsApp when you book: it tells us which parts to bring, so the repair is far more likely to finish in one visit.

Samsung Error Codes

What Your Samsung Washing Machine Error Code Means

Older Samsung machines use letter-E codes and newer ones use letter-C codes for the same faults. Both are listed together below.

4E / 4C

Water supply fault. Machine did not fill in time. Tap closed, kinked hose, blocked inlet gauze filter or failed inlet valve.

5E / 5C

Drain fault. Water not leaving the drum. Blocked pump filter, blocked drain hose or a failed drain pump.

UE / UB

Unbalanced load. Genuine lopsided load, or worn shock absorbers and suspension letting the drum move too far.

dC / DC / dE

Door fault. Door not closing or the interlock not confirming lock. Usually the door lock assembly or its wiring.

3E / 3C

Motor fault. Motor or hall sensor not reporting correctly. Often the hall sensor, wiring loom or the main board.

LE / LC

Leak detected. Water sensed in the base tray. Needs immediate attention, especially in an apartment.

HE / HC

Heating fault. Heating element or NTC temperature sensor failure — the machine washes cold.

1E / 1C

Water level sensor. Pressure sensor or its hose blocked, split or disconnected.

OE / OC / OF

Overfill. Machine has taken in too much water — inlet valve stuck open or pressure sensor misreading.

tE / tC

Temperature sensor. NTC thermistor out of range or open circuit.

AE / AC

Communication fault. Main board and display board not talking — connector, loom or board failure.

SUD / SUdS

Excess suds. Too much detergent or the wrong type. Not always a fault, but it can mask a drain problem.

Are you an authorized Samsung service centre?

No. We are UNITECH HOME BUILDING MAINTENANCE L.L.C, a private independent repair company licensed in the UAE under trade licence 134585. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized service provider of Samsung. We repair Samsung machines as an independent third party, and we use the brand name only to identify the machines we work on.

What does the 4E or 4C error mean on my Samsung washing machine?

4E on older models and 4C on newer ones both indicate a water supply fault — the machine did not fill to the expected level in the expected time. The usual causes are a closed or partly closed tap, a kinked inlet hose, a blocked gauze filter in the inlet valve, or a failed inlet valve itself. Blocked inlet filters are extremely common in the UAE because of fine sediment carried from building storage tanks.

My Samsung machine shows 5E and will not drain. Is that an expensive repair?

Usually not. 5E or 5C is a drain fault, and in most cases the cause is a blocked pump filter, a blocked or kinked drain hose, or a drain pump that has failed. A filter clean or a pump replacement is among the cheaper repairs on the machine. The technician gives you the fixed price before any work starts.

Do you repair Samsung EcoBubble and Digital Inverter models?

Yes. EcoBubble front loaders and Digital Inverter direct-drive machines are among the most common Samsung models in UAE homes, and we repair the bubble generator, the inverter motor, the hall sensor and the main control board on them.

Can you get spare parts for Samsung washing machines in Dubai?
